The Boat and Your Captain
Come ride the Blue Heron, a true excursion boat that lets you get close to the water and wildlife. A 90-minute cruise will transport you to tranquility!
The Blue Heron is a 40’ pontoon boat, specially built for nature excursions. The rear two-thirds of the boat is covered by a roof, providing ample shade for our passengers. The front one-third of the boat is open to the sunshine and breezes. (This is the kids’ favorite spot!)
There are plenty of life jackets on board, with one to fit every age and size, even toddlers. The restroom has a very nice RV toilet, plus lots of hand sanitizer, baby wipes, and sunscreen.
Average cruising speed is 5-10 miles per hour... that’s why it’s so relaxing!
You may be surprised at the abundance of nature located just 30 minutes northwest of Nashville. Board the Blue Heron at Riverview Restaurant in Ashland City, Tennessee. Then travel with Captain Jim through Cheatham Wildlife Management Area (30,000 acres). Once you’ve been on one cruise, you’ll want to try more!
